The "Mayor's popular concert" was held for the 2nd time at the Senate Square in Helsinki. Half an hour before the concert was about to begin, the square was already quite full. Still some room at the back...

... but none in front of the stage or on the steps in front of the cathedral. Apparently people had arrived well in advance to get a good spot...

Well, the concert got going soon enough and the clue of it was that a) the songs were new productions of famous songs from the Beatles, the Queen, Iron Maiden, Elvis etc played by the Helsinki City Orchestra, a really big "band"...

... and b) the singers were couples of unusual combinations (e.g. opera singer + rock singer, tango singer + a ballad singer, rap singer + teen poppers etc) of Finnish artists doing duets of the famous songs. Last year the general public was allowed to vote for the songs and the combination of singers, but not this year. Notice the clouds; they look like a giant bird/angel was flying by with spread wings!

A bit later the wing formation of the clouds were gone, but the people hardly cared, they were busy jamming along with the great songs.
