Walking along the promenade on the eastern side of the Helsinki peninsula towards Kaivopuisto gradually opens more and more expansive seascapes...

Every summer for the past few years a bungy jumping tower has been erected at Kaivopuisto for the daring jumpers. Every year the tower seems to get taller and taller (this year it was 130m?)... I'm still gathering courage to try the jump, but maybe next year... :)

By the sea various kinds of birds can often be seen. One day I saw this family of swans, on another day I saw a huge flock of geese having taken over half of the park and so on.

Going up the hill in Kaivopuisto (the name of the hill escapes me momentarily...), you can catch a very Finnish view blue-white sky and birch trees swaying in the breeze.

The top of the hill offers nice vistas into the central "valley" of the park...

... and into the boat harbour by the park...

...as well as over into the open sea. By the here is a sight which constantly gathers amazed tourists; people washing their rugs and mats by the sea. Why would that be unusual??

Several little ferry boat traveling to near-by islands, have their launches around the park.

The seascape around the park are indeed offer quite nice and occasionally you may even catch the play of sunlight on the sea producing cool effects like this "duck of light"... :)
